With a Netflix subscription, you get access to titles from almost anywhere in the world. But that doesn’t mean that your catalog includes all movies and series that are available to subscribers. Curious about what others will see?
change your language setting
You can change the language setting of your account from Dutch to English. As a result, you also get to see titles for which no Dutch subtitles are provided. Of course, this is only useful if you understand English.
To do this, go to ‘Account’ and select ‘Language’ under your profile. Under ‘Languages for series and movies’ choose English. You can just leave the display language to Dutch.

A VPN (Virtual Private Network) allows you to safely surf the Internet away from home. The connection routes your Internet traffic through an intermediate server located in the country of your choice. It can disguise your real IP address and replace it with the IP address of your chosen country, falsifying your current location. (An IP address is a unique code assigned to each device connected to the Internet.)
The ‘disadvantages’ of a VPN: As with many things, you have to pay if you want quality. There are also free VPNs, but they have limited functions. Investing in tackling cybercrime is interesting. A VPN also encrypts all your traffic so that no one can track your activities, not even your internet provider.
Have you installed VPN? Then connect to a VPN server in the country of your choosing. Now when you visit Netflix’s website, you should be automatically redirected to the country site for the location of your selected server. If you aren’t already logged into Netflix, select your movie or series.
Easy even when traveling! Using a VPN connection allows you to watch the Netflix catalog from anywhere abroad. Regardless of your location, you can switch Netflix regions and stream titles from your favorite country catalog. For example, when traveling in France, you can see which customers are served in the United Kingdom or Japan. Or you can just consult the Dutch offer if it is no longer available after crossing the border.
Is it allowed to use a VPN for Netflix? Netflix streaming over a VPN connection is completely legal as long as you are in a country where VPN use is legal. If you are in a country where VPNs are banned, such as China, Russia or Iran, you should check the laws carefully.

In addition to genres such as drama, horror, and children, Netflix has also classified thousands of its titles into “secret” sub-genres. More than 70,000 highly accurate categories, identified by a numerical code. For example, code 2535 will show you “Witty movies directed by Woody Allen”, 5475 will take you to romantic comedies, and 4814 will take you to mini-series.
