‘What wakes me up, I have to win and more’: Thiago Silva is determined to help Chelsea challenge for the Premier League, as the Brazilian defender aims to add to his 35-year-old medal collection
- Thiago Silva joined Chelsea from PSG for free in the summer
- The Brazilian defender, 35, is keen to give the club a Premier League success
- He has yet to make his debut in the Champions League final with PSG
- Silva also wants to continue playing at the highest level to go to the 2022 World Cup
Thiago Silva, 35, is still driven by the desire to win the trophy and has won the Premier League at Chelsea.
The Brazilian center-back joins Paris Saint-Germain in the summer and is ready to make his debut for the team for Frank Lampard.
With the success of the Scudetto at AC Milan, Silver has one of the brightest CVs in football, followed by 16 domestic honors in France.

The Brazilian defender, 35, has been training for a few days since coming from PSG
He was also part of the Brazil team that won the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup and the 2015 Copa America.
However, the defender is still far from doing the job and he believes Chelsea will be in contention for the title despite a 2-0 defeat to defending champions Liverpool on Sunday.
He told Chelsea’s official website: ‘What inspires me day after day is the hunger for victory. To win everything within my reach.
‘Coming to the Premier League, my main goal is to win the league title and I am sure we will fight for every move.
‘The team is really strong, we’ve got a great coach and we’re here to contribute as much as I can to the goal of getting as close as possible to achieving the goal.

‘That’s what inspires me: to get off the pitch and then win, win and win something more. I don’t think about anything else. ‘
Silva is still optimistic about playing for Brazil in Qatar’s next World Cup in 2022, and thinks regular football for Chelsea will help him achieve that ambition.
‘The prospect of playing in the next World Cup is another thing that really drives me,’ he said.
“By the time of the next World Cup, I will be more or less 38 years old and I am strongly motivated to be in a good position for this.”
Silva signed for Chelsea on 26 August, but began training with his new team-mates after reaching the Champions League final on Wednesday, losing 1-0 to Bayern Munich on 23 August in the Champions League final.
That means he missed two Premier League opening games against Chelsea’s Brighton and Liverpool.
But the suspension of Andres Christensen after his red card against Liverpool and doubts about Antonio Rudizar’s future mean his chances of making his debut could come in the next few weeks.
Chancey played in the Carnby Barnsley on Wednesday night before heading to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
