New Chelsea’s signature Thiago Silva has opened to meet this young fan who rose to fame by rapping a song in his honor during last year’s Glastonbury Festival.
Before reciting every word of the song ‘Thiago Silva’ wearing a St. Germain shirt in Paris, teenager Alex Mann went viral after being pulled from the crowd to join artist Dave on stage.
Later that summer, the young man was invited to Paris to meet Silver, who signed the jersey and re-enacted the famous performance.

“It’s a very unusual situation because I’ve never heard the song before,” Silva said.
‘This video of boy Alex outside the crowd wearing my shirt, he came on stage and sang the song with all the other artists and it went viral.
‘Of course, it reached me in Paris and I then had the opportunity to meet Alex and thank him because sometimes our footballers lose sight of our impact and reach out to us.
‘So I was really happy, glad to have a song with my name on it. I remember that day very well. ‘
Silva is leaving PSG to join Frank Lampard this summer and is on his way to his debut against Barnsley in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
The 36-year-old has won 30 trophies for the club and the country, but this is his first taste in English football.
For many years the center had kept the Premier League closed behind, considering it plagued by agricultural football.
Silva is expected to make his Chelsea debut in the Carabao Cup against Barnsley this week.

Silva admitted, ‘I have never seen myself in the Premier League before. ‘I personally see it as a tough style of football. I had no desire to play in the Premier League because my impression of playing football was with long balls, high balls and long shots. I thought at the time that I didn’t see myself playing in that championship but over time I saw that the championship has evolved tremendously, there are many more technical qualities.
‘(Now) several teams are playing with the ball on the field, attacking the whole back area and each team has its own ideas and strengths but I’ve seen long balls before and it didn’t flood me. I know how to play that way but my choice is to play with the ball on the ground to I know my quality, little by little, Premier League football has really won me over. He who knows me knows it. At 36, I’m reaching out to play in the best championships in the world.
“It’s usually a league of young players but I’m coming here as an older player and I can see it because Frank Lampard and Chelsea want my experienced players.”
Lampard would hope that Silva could add leadership to a backline blocked in his time.

Brazilian English is very limited but still he hopes that he will impress his teammates through his actions.
“It’s important to show young players that it’s not enough to just play a match, they need to be prepared and in the best position,” he said.
‘They need to see how important it is to win things because it is remembered by successful people and winners. The example is our manager Frank Lampard, he has won the biggest and major championship in world football, so he will be remembered forever. Not just Chelsea fans, but England fans as well. ‘
Silver’s final appearance for the PSG came in the Champions League final last month, when they beat Bayern Munich.
On Tuesday he revealed that he had the opportunity to stay in France but was already committed to joining Chelsea.

‘It started during the lockdown period started (PSG’s sports director) Leonardo called me and he asked me to extend my contract for two months to cut the Champions League finals. I said okay, no problem, because I want to stay and stay in the group till the end to finish the work I have started, ‘he said.
‘I thought I wouldn’t be there two months after the Champions League. I talked to my agent about it and we looked back at my future and other options for the Champions League final after our meeting with Leonardo in Paris and I informed him of my intentions and discussed the possibility of staying. But then on Monday morning, I had already fixed Chelsea and I made this decision. ‘
He added: ‘Age is just a number in your document but physically I feel very young. I am very ready for this and I have been preparing for this for the rest of my life. People who know me know how much I contribute to my work. I kept 200 percent and it’s a great opportunity that Chelsea and Frank Lampard have given me and I don’t want to disappoint them. ‘
