Firefighters are battling to quit a huge blaze on Bournemouth beach engulfing a hotel after three beach front huts went up in flames.

Emergency services have scrambled to the area involving Bournemouth Pier and Branksome beach front, where by sunlight bathers have reportedly been evacuated 

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Brigade said: ‘Dorset & Wiltshire Hearth and Rescue Provider is at this time working with a hearth on West Undercliff in Bournemouth, influencing three seashore huts and somewhere around 100 sqm of heath on the cliff experience.

‘We were named to the scene at 3.51pm and have fire crews in attendance from Redhill Park, Springbourne, Westbourne and Christchurch, collectively with the aerial appliance from Westbourne. Added crews are en route.

‘The fire is triggering sizeable smoke across the promenade and throughout West Hill Road. 

‘People are asked to stay away from the space, and to keep doors and windows closed as a precaution.’ 

The seaside city is a single of the most popular coastal places in the state and currently drew hundreds of individuals. 

Ross Millen, of the Bournemouth Echo, tweeted: ‘A substantial section of the cliff amongst Bournemouth pier and Branksome beach front has caught hearth. 

‘Emergency providers all on scene and the segment of beach nearest the fire has been evacuated.

‘Locals expressing they very first smelt the smoke from the city centre about 45 minutes in the past.’
