Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Brigade said: ‘Dorset & Wiltshire Hearth and Rescue Provider is at this time working with a hearth on West Undercliff in Bournemouth, influencing three seashore huts and somewhere around 100 sqm of heath on the cliff experience.
‘We were named to the scene at 3.51pm and have fire crews in attendance from Redhill Park, Springbourne, Westbourne and Christchurch, collectively with the aerial appliance from Westbourne. Added crews are en route.
‘The fire is triggering sizeable smoke across the promenade and throughout West Hill Road.
‘People are asked to stay away from the space, and to keep doors and windows closed as a precaution.’
The seaside city is a single of the most popular coastal places in the state and currently drew hundreds of individuals.
Ross Millen, of the Bournemouth Echo, tweeted: ‘A substantial section of the cliff amongst Bournemouth pier and Branksome beach front has caught hearth.
