With the publication of its latest financial report, the Activision Blizzard Group dashed the hopes of its most optimistic fans. In fact, all those who still expect to be able to play Overwatch 2 or Diablo IV this year will have to wait (at least) an additional year.

“We are making significant progress in developing projects for our other licenses, which could lead to further development by 2022. ” It is in these words that the American veteran has confirmed the fact that Diablo IV and Overwatch 2 will not arrive this year. Obviously, this does not mean that the players will have nothing to eat.

In fact, like many other publishers, Activision Blizzard will give in to the call of “remastering”. After Warcraft 3, the publisher can therefore look at other cult titles such as Diablo 2 for example. In this regard, remember that a mobile episode, called Diablo Amar, can occur during the year.

Blizzard fans will however have an event to celebrate very soon, as BlizzConline will take place over a few days on February 19 and 20. On this occasion, we imagine that the publisher will introduce a new trailer for Diablo IV, and will undoubtedly formalize some releases in the coming months.

For the record, remember that the first Overwatch was launched in 2015, whose popularity is still very strong today. For its part, the Diablo 3 was first released in May 2012, and has already been the subject of several ports on the console, including the smaller Nintendo Switch. So be patient …
