The evaluations were based on several factors, including the proportion of a country’s population, vaccinated, the rate of Kovid-19 infection, new versions emerging, and the country’s access to reliable scientific data, and genomic sequencing.

Most popular short-hall destinations were not on the original “green list” of countries without quarantine, meaning they are instead on the “orange list”. This is what it means.

Which countries are on the orange list?

The amber list is composed of countries classified between the “green list” and the “red list” of prohibited sites and, therefore, includes most of the world’s nations.

The countries initially registered in the green list are as follows:

  • Portugal, including Azores and Madeira

  • New Zealand
  • Brunei
  • Iceland
  • Faroe Islands

  • Israel

This is in addition to the remote areas of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, St. Helena, Ascension Island and Tristan da Cunha.

As a result, the most popular European destinations for British tourists such as Spain, Italy, France and Greece are on the “orange list”.

What are the orange list rules?

You are allowed to go on vacation in Orange List countries, but it is a lot more complicated than Green List Destinations.

Before leaving an amber list country in the UK, you will need to show proof of a negative covid test.

After returning to the UK, you will have to quarantine for 10 days and undergo a PCR test on the second and eighth days.

You can run an additional PCR test on the fifth day, and if the test is negative, you can exit quarantine first.

The lists are decided on the basis of the following criteria:

  • The percentage of the population of a country that has been vaccinated.
  • Infection rate
  • Tendency to distract
  • Country access to reliable scientific data and genomic sequencing

Here are the rules for other categories:

  • Scope of work: Visitors will be required to undergo a pre-departure test as well as a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test on or before the second day of their arrival in the UK, but do not require self-quarantine until they return to achieve a positive result.
