Broach that the queen chose very deliberately during the speech

The queen wore the brooch as a tribute to her husband Prince Philip (99), who is in the hospital, and gave her the brooch as a wedding gift. Phillip is his great love and he is now very worried that he has been in the hospital for some time with severe infections and heart complaints. The queen was made of so-called chrysanthemum brooches, sapphires, diamonds and platinum in 1947 while on a honeymoon in Hampshire with her husband. We showed her with her on her 60th and 73rd wedding day.

Phillip was first hospitalized on 16 February because he had an infection. At first Buckingham Palace claimed that it would be ‘as a precaution’, but it was later revealed that the situation was more serious. He was transferred to another hospital, St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, to undergo heart surgery. Meanwhile, things will be much better for the prince, who will turn a hundred years old in June.

It was a fierce day for the queen, who, in addition to her annual holiday speech, was certainly in her stomach with Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah, which was also broadcast that day. However, according to palace officials, her mind is elsewhere: “Her thoughts are with her husband. She is much more concerned about Philip than in that interview.”

The interview can be seen on Tuesday, March 9 at 8.30 pm on Net 5. If you can’t wait anymore, you can watch the interview on VRT at 9.20 pm Monday (Belgium 1). Here’s a preview …
