He’s about to star in a new Wes Anderson movie
According to rumours, Benedict Cumberbatch will star in Wes Anderson’s new project for Netflix. Ben Kingsley should also be on board.
Benedict Cumberbatch (45), Dev Patel (31), Ben Kingsley (78) and Ralph Fiennes (59) have reportedly been cast for a new film by director Wes Anderson (52). This has been reported by several American media such as “The Hollywood Reporter”. “The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and Six More” is a film adaptation of the short story collection of the same name by Roald Dahl (1916–1990). This movie is made exclusively for Netflix. In the autumn of 2021, the streaming giant acquired the rights to the author’s works.
Filming to begin this month
Netflix has yet to comment on the casting rumours. According to media reports, it is said that Wes Anderson wrote and directed the script. Filming should begin this month in Great Britain. It is not yet known what roles Patel, Kingsley and Fiennes will slip into. Cumberbatch is said to play the lead role of Henry Sugar and impersonate other characters as well.
Most recently, Cumberbatch received praise in the Marvel hit “Spider-Man: No Way Home” and the Netflix flick “The Power of the Dog.” His blockbuster ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ will hit the theaters in May. This will be the first project in director Wes Anderson’s universe for Cumberbatch, Kingsley and Patel. Fiennes played a leading role in Andersen’s comedy “Grand Budapest Hotel” in 2014.
