But the responsibility to deal with this virus is individual as well as collective – everyone in our country will be concerned about the coming days and weeks, feeling frustrated and difficult, but I urge everyone to follow the rules.

And I know we will go through this crisis because fighting for the future is worth it. I have seen in business that they are trying their best to keep the business going, among the people who sadly lost their jobs but found new jobs and this moment did not let their attitude break, young kickstarters have signed up for our new job creation plans. I see it every day in messages of support, concern and even anger and sadness sent to me.

That power of feeling led me to work longer and harder. I’ve always said that I can’t protect every job or save every business – no chance of a chancellor – but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to do what I can. Over the past eight months of this crisis we have helped millions of people continue to provide for their families as part of our work plan to protect, support and create jobs. We have put in place a plan to protect people’s incomes and supportive jobs in every region and country in the UK with more than 200 200 billion in support since March. This week the IMF called our response to the epidemic one of the best examples of global action.

The Farlow Scheme has been successful in securing millions of jobs, and as a result of the new nationwide restrictions, we will extend the project so that it remains open until December. This will give employers the ability to retain their staff and give employees peace of mind so that their work should be important and valuable. The self-employment income support scheme will be made more liberal in line with the Farlow scheme and will also be paid faster. This will ensure self-employment is supported in winter.

In addition, we are extending mortgage holidays and extending the deadline for applying to Covid loan projects. Businesses forced to close in England also receive a grant of 000 3,000 per month under the Local Restrictions Assistance Grant.
