Dubstep DJ Cookie Monsta has died at the age of 31, it has been confirmed.
Her record label Circus Records confirmed the sad news in a Twitter post on Friday evening, saying everyone in the company was “devastated” by her death.
The cause of death of the DJ, whose real name is Tony Cook, has not yet been confirmed.
Circus Records tweeted: “Our favorite Tony Cook (aka Cookie Monsta) has left us.
“We are devastated, no such word can contain our feelings.
“All our thoughts go to Tony’s family, friends and our hearts especially to Oli, the son of Mini Monster Tony.
“The world will miss you cookies, brother will miss you.”
The post concludes with the words: “We will stop commenting until we deem it appropriate without respect for Tony’s family.”
Cookie Monsta was known for its track rough and blur.
He canceled his visit last year after revealing that he was “fighting mental health problems”.
At the time, he wrote on Facebook: “I haven’t been online lately trying to solve problems that are far from social media.
“Unfortunately I didn’t make as much progress as I expected, so I decided I needed to take a longer break from this scene.”
In August 2019, he posted that he was “in a better place” and was returning to music “with more confidence and passion than ever before”. “
His fellow DJs and musicians paid tribute to him on Twitter.
Cowan tweeted: “We’re really devastated to see the news that Circus Records, Tony, Cookie Monsta has passed.
“He always had so much fun being around, he was a great and caring soul.
“We are very sorry for the loss of everyone we know. Rest in peace.”
