Emmerdale actress Natalie Anderson, who plays Alicia Gallagher, has revealed she is bedbound after suffering a burst ovarian cyst.
The star shared a photo on Instagram and described the agony of what she had been through in the caption.
She also warned her followers to listen to their bodies and get their health checked if anything is concerning them.
Ovarian cysts are fluid-filled sacs and can often be harmless, but if they burst it can cause severe pain and even internal bleeding.
Sharing a stunning photo from a location by a lake, Natalie explained she certainly wasn’t feeling that glamorous now.
“Throwing it back to last week living my best life by the lake.
“I’ve been in bed all week with a burst ovarian cyst. So bloody painful!,” she wrote.
“Stupidly I’d left it even though it had been nagging me for months. In my head I made so many excuses why I couldn’t get to the doctors, too busy, it’s nothing etc etc.
“Well that was silly because this week I’ve been in so much pain, had to have several scans and lost about a weeks worth of work whilst I’ve had to rest up…”
She went on: “However it could have been a lot worse had I not in the end got it checked out! To be honest it was chatting to our gorgeous Nat @missiontoremission that really made me do something about it.
“(If you’re not following our amazing girl & her blog yet please do! She’s incredible!!) Please listen to her when she says if something is bothering you with your health, don’t wait get it checked out!!”
Natalia concluded: “I’m fine if a bit sore and frustrated but things can be very different if you leave an issue untreated. Make sure you look after yourself.”
Her fans sent well wishes, with one writing: “Sorry to hear this beaut, currently in hospital suffering the same thing xxx”.
“So sorry to hear that! Hope you’re feeling better soon,” added another.
A third wrote: “Wondered why we hadn’t heard from you for a while.GET WELL SOON.”
