Athletics Owner Announces Temporary Move to Sacramento

The A’s will be playing at Sutter Health Park, home of the Triple-A Sacramento River Cats, which Fisher described as the “most intimate” park in MLB.

The decision to move to Sacramento comes after MLB owners unanimously approved the A’s relocation to Las Vegas, despite efforts by Oakland officials to keep the team in the Bay Area. Fisher notified Oakland officials of the team’s intent to move to Sacramento on Thursday, according to ESPN.

If their new home in Las Vegas is still under construction, the A’s also have the option to play in Sacramento in 2028. Fisher, who has faced criticism from the fanbase, has not attended an A’s game since April 2013 and did not take questions during the press conference announcing the move.
