Harry Potter fan sites J.K. Rowing on transgender rights

US-based MuggleNet and The Leaky Cauldron sites opened jointly on Wednesday Bremen statet reject Rowling’s beliefs in transgender rights and elaborate on their commitment to providing a safe community where everyone is welcome.

The statement comes after Rowling posted an article about gender identity on her website. He faced criticism and condemnation from LGBTQ + activists who immediately called “destructive”

Fan websites said they had implemented new policies that said they would no longer include their personal efforts (excluding philanthropy) and do not photograph or quote from the author to get away from their authors.

They also said that they would not send purchase links or links to the author’s website.

In early June, several leading stars in the “Harry Potter” movie series said that Emma Watson wrote on Twitter: “Trans people, the person they’re saying, and who they deserve to live their lives without being questioned or told all the time.”

Fan sites said it was “difficult” to speak to someone whose work they “admire for a very long time”, but it would be wrong to use their platform to counteract the damage caused by Rowling.

“Our stance is solid: Transgender women are women. Transgender men are men. People who are not binary are not binary. Interseks people are present and they should not have to live in a dual environment. ”

“Although we do not give up JKR’s ill-treatment for transmitting his views on transgender people, we must reject their beliefs,” he added.

MuggleNet has more than 800,000 followers on Facebook, and The Leaky Cauldron has more than 230,000 followers.
