Newly Discovered Titanosaur Named “Igai Semkhu” Fills Gap in Dinosaur Knowledge
A remarkable new species of titanosaur has been unveiled to the world, shedding light on the forgotten history of dinosaurs. Named Igai semkhu, this dinosaur lived approximately 75 million years ago in what is now the Kharga Oasis in Egypt.
Igai semkhu was a relatively small titanosaur, measuring up to 50 feet (15 meters) in length. Its name comes from ancient Egyptian, translating to “Forgotten Lord of the Oasis,” paying tribute to a deity worshipped in the area during that time.
