Introducing Insider Wales Sport: A Fresh Take on Music Discovery with Samples

Introducing YouTube Music’s Latest Feature: Samples

YouTube Music, one of the leading music streaming platforms, has added an exciting new feature called “Samples” to its app. Designed to help users discover new music, Samples offers a vertical video feed that showcases short clips of songs tailored to the user’s taste profile and previous listening habits.

To access Samples, users simply need to tap on a new tab located at the bottom of the app, alongside the home feed, library, and explore section. Once activated, a 30-second vertical video clip of a song that YouTube Music believes the user will enjoy starts playing. What sets Samples apart from other playlists offered by the app is its algorithm, which aims to highlight familiar artists but with clips that the user hasn’t watched before.

If a user isn’t fond of a particular song playing in the Samples feed, they can easily swipe up to quickly jump to another song. This new feature can be used as a starting point for longer listening sessions, allowing users to discover new artists and songs in an engaging and interactive manner.

Additionally, the Samples video view includes convenient controls that enable users to save songs to their liked songs playlist, add them to any custom playlist, or even play the full song immediately. Furthermore, the Samples video view features a “Shorts” button that directs users to the main YouTube app. Here, they can explore other Shorts clips created with the same audio and even create their own.

YouTube Music users can also easily share the Samples videos through various apps via the share button. However, it is important to note that some users have reported experiencing issues with the user interface, particularly when switching views within the app. YouTube Music, however, assures its users that Samples consistently serves up music from their favorite artists and provides selections that are less familiar to them.
