The tap to pay system on the iPhone debuted in the UK this week and will be coming to Brazil soon. Apple here allows turning the iPhone into a payment terminal, which is interesting for merchants.
Select partners of Brazilian payments platform InfinitePay have received early access to Tap to Pay on iPhone. According to an email sent to these partners working with the platform, Tap to Pay is being tested with a limited number of users in Brazil ahead of the official launch.
“The big day is here: Tap to Pay with InfinitePay on iPhone is now available for testing and we’ve now chosen you to get exclusive access”, noted E-mail. A video posted on Twitter also shows the system in action. The merchant only needs to enter the transaction amount for the iPhone to accept payments via NFC.

It is currently unclear when Tap to Pay will actually be available in Brazil. But ongoing testing suggests that could become a reality within a few weeks.
And France or other countries? No information at this time. Tap to Pay is currently available in the US, Taiwan, Australia and the UK. Also, it is worth remembering that you must have at least an iPhone XS to enjoy this.
