JESA Technologies announced on Wednesday 23 March that it has won a feasibility study for a MAP/DAP granulation plant for the Ammaru Phosphate project in northern Australia.
for information, JESA is a joint venture between the OCP Group, the world leader in phosphates and derivatives, and the Australian Worley Group, one of the world’s largest providers of technical, professional and construction services.
According to a press release obtained by the editorial staff of AFRIMAG, the site is located in the West Georgina Basin, 1000 km from the city of Darwin. The plant will be capable of producing 960,000 MT/year of granular fertilizer based on 50% MAP product and 50% DAP product.
The project aims to become a fully integrated fertilizer complex, in addition to the extraction of phosphate rock at the site, and including a phosphate rock upgrading plant.
It is also a project consisting of a phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, ammonia and granulation plant. “We are very pleased to be working with Verdent Minerals on this feasibility study. Following the successful project at Phosphate Hill, this will be our second million ton per year MAP/DAP plant in Australia,” said David Ewell, Managing Director of JESA Technologies. And Chris Tziolis, Managing Director of Verdent Minerals, agrees: “We are delighted to welcome JESA within the framework of the Ammaru project. We look forward to incorporating JESA’s considerable granular expertise into this exciting value-added project, which is based in Australia and Australia. Ammonium, is essential in the future.”
