British Airways, Easyjet and Ryanair have launched legal action against the British government’s coronavirus quarantine rules.
The three airlines say the restrictions will “have a devastating effect on British tourism and the wider economy and will destroy thousands of jobs.”
On Monday, Britain introduced new rules requiring everyone who came to the country to have a 14-day self-isolation or fine.
In a statement, he said, the legal difficulty of airlines is based on a variety of factors, such as “this quarantine is more stringent than the rules applied to people with COVID-19 under criminal law”.
“No consultation and scientific evidence has been submitted for such a serious policy,” they say.
In their struggle, airlines say, “If you are a French or German worker who travels to England on a weekly basis, you are exempt, and the UK government prohibits people traveling to Britain from countries with lower rates of infection.”
They also said that they did not see any evidence of how and when the “bridges” proposal would be implemented between the UK and other countries.
