The messaging application creates separate menus on its iOS and Android applications to simplify interaction while changing the smartphone.
On Android it is possible for a long time to save your WhatsApp conversation via Google Drive. This is a good way to get them back when you change your smartphone. However, users who want to switch from iPhone to Android phone were previously unaware of such functionality.
When trying to switch from one operating system to another, it was really impossible to export your WhatsApp conversations to the iPhone to be able to recover them on Android phones. At least that was impossible until now. Indeed, as the WABetaInfo site noted, specializing in news messaging applications, the latest beta version of WhatsApp on the iPhone now allows you to export your conversations.

WhatsApp is developing a function to import chat history into WhatsApp for iOS (chat migration). The function is under development and will be available in future updates », Thus indicating the particular site in a tweet. At the beginning of the month, WhatsApp had already integrated a device into its iOS version. From now on, it is the Android version of the application that benefits from an import function of chat history. It is not functional yet, but appears in version 2.21.9.7 of the WhatsApp application on Android.
Conversely a transfer from Android to iOS while waiting …?
The idea would be, ultimately, to provide an integrated function to transfer conversations from an iPhone to an Android smartphone, often without paying, through a third-party application. As WABetaInfo suggests, the new migration system can go through Google Drive as is already the case on the Android version of WhatsApp to save conversations.
However, it is not known whether WhatsApp also plans a reverse path to move conversations from the Android app to the iOS version of instant messaging, but that seems just as likely.
For now, the function is still in the development stage. We do not yet know when WhatsApp will introduce the final version on its application.
