Organizer Paul D’Annno’s crowdfunding campaign does not know why Iron Maiden did not help raise funds

A crowdfunding campaign to help raise £ 20,000 (around 24 000 €) recently by Kasturo Pergozi, director of operations at the Cart & Horse Pub in Stratford (London, England), where Iron Maiden made its first debut in 1976 Started so that former Maiden singer Paul Diano can undergo his prolonged knee operation. So far, Pergamoni has raised just £ 8,600, or about 43% of the target, from around 340 supporters.

Pargoni opened up about his fundraising efforts during a new appearance on Uncle Steve’s Iron Zone podcast.

Asked if he directly contacted members of Iron Maiden to contribute to Dyano’s campaign, Castro said:

I wasn’t honest, because I don’t want to cause any problems … It’s not for me to go to them, because I have nothing to do with Iron Maiden. Even when I need to contact Steve [Harris, bassiste et fondateur de Iron Maiden], I go through his friends, his sister or his relatives to get things from him. For anything related, I do not think it is personal for me, or carts and horses, to contact them. I would love for them to come forward and cover what is left or say something, but I don’t think this is my place to see Madden.

Noting that the carts and horses are currently under renovation after closing in June 2019, Pergoni continued:

I have occasionally asked them, even recently, especially with renovations, to donate to Cart & Horse, and I hope they will. However, now ask them something else, which is not related to Kart & Horse, I think it is really not right to do so … and then [Paul] I am connected to Madden myself, not me. It is like going into someone else’s family and asking for something for them.

Paul D’Ano has struggled with a number of health issues in recent years. He reportedly underwent surgery in 2016 to remove a “rugby ball-shaped abscess” on his lungs and undergo knee replacement surgery after several motorcycle accidents over the years. As a result, Mr. Di Ayano was forced to sit when he performed at his last ceremonies.

Paul recorded two cult albums with Iron Maiden before being replaced by Bruce Dickinson. He led several other groups including Assassins and Battlezone and released several solo records.

In March 2011, Paul was sentenced to nine months in prison in the UK after he claimed he suffered nerve damage to his back, preventing him from working.
