A new feature is coming soon on Instagram. The social network announced on Tuesday 2 February that it would soon be possible for a user to restore them to recover their deleted content, reports 01net.

“We know it’s waiting for some people,” Instagram says on her blog. The “recently removed” function deployed by the Facebook-owned platform concerns both photos and reels, as well as IGTV videos and stories.

Protection against hackers

In concrete terms, all deleted materials will be kept for thirty days in a dedicated folder with the exception of Stories, which will remain there for only 24 hours. Users wishing to restore them only need to go to this location, find them in the “Settings” tab, then “Account”.

Access to the “Recently Removed” folder, which acts as a computer recycle bin, will be protected. There is a way to prevent hackers with access to an Instagram account to restore or permanently delete content without an authorization. According to our partners, a dual authentication system can be installed on the application.
