Kate, however, the Duchess of Cambridge, failed miserably to make the list. The findings were published by online fashion platform Last in its annual In-Fashion Report.
It was created based on searches by more than 100 million buyers worldwide.
Choosing what makes sense using LIST data is the 12th most annual fashion moment of the year.
These included the resignation of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at the end of March and the marriage of Princess Beatrice in July.
Meghan and Harry shocked the world by announcing their plans to resign as senior members of the Royal Family in January.
Instead the couple promised to be “financially separate” and said they would share their time between North America and the United Kingdom.
But for her final royal engagement in March, Meghan wore a number of fashion sensations.
The Duchess wore a great blue Victoria Beckham dress for the Endeavor Awards on March 5 at the Mansion House in London.
The event served and celebrated former members of the armed forces who used the sport to recover from injuries or adjust to post-military life.

The annual event was held to celebrate the Commonwealth-led global role, with senior Royals taking part, including Queen.

The event, already delayed by the coronavirus, took place in front of a small group of guests in Windsor.
Attendees included the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh.
At the end of the service a reception was held at Buckingham Garden Grounds.
Beatrice wore a vintage wedding dress for the occasion that was borrowed from the queen.
In the next 48 hours, Last’s report found a 297 percent increase in “wine wedding dress” searches.
Beatrice later described the day as “so much fun.”
